Village tour - There are lot more to do better

In my last blog, I have mentioned I had visited my native place after a long time. In these long interval, I did notice a list of social and economic prosperity. Like to say on the economic front the villagers have progressed from cycle to two wheeler. There are more than two to three two wheeler in every house and quite a lot of four wheelers (cars). Even in religious front they are moving ahead. Every Poornima (full moon day), married females in the village contribute money and organise Vilaku Pooja.

The missing part is offering skill training to the villagers by the villagers without expecting anything or little in return. There are few nurses in village. At present, they have taken break from nursing. These nurses can conduct health check-up camps once in a month. This will benefit the villagers. The learned can help the students in their studies. Weekly, they can conduct study camps for them.

The drivers in the village can help the youngsters in teaching how to drive cars. The many cars in the village can start passenger services from the village to the nearest town. This can be a weekly affairs. The ticket should be subsidised.

There are not enough trees in the village. The villagers should plant enough trees. Each and every houses have a borewell in their house. They should share their water with their neighbours. By doing so, extensive digging of earth for water can be avoided. Because of this misuse, already, in some places borewell digging is not permitted. Once has to take permission from competent government authority for installing borewell.

Coming back to trees, there are some trees the villagers shuns for age old reasons that they bring bad luck. If not in their compound, they should be plant such tress in common village land. There should be as many native tress as possible.

I saw boys playing cricket. When I was a teenager, my peers use to play cards. They have carried that habits now too. These cricket / sports loving boys and girls should be nurtured. Through crowd funding, apart from cricket gears, chess, lawn tennis, table tennis, and other sports equipment should be scored and a proper trainer should be appointed to teach them the basic of these games.
